STEPS

• It is thus proposed to be implemented first for charity applications,
• Starting in the province of Cebu (Philippines),
• Coordinated by Healthcare Authorities and the Cebu Health Foundation,
• With the purpose of testing and adapting the successful and scalable model now running in the Principality of Asturias (Spain), serving all its population and connecting all hospitals and all other healthcare facilities, so that
• In next years it will be replicated nationwide in Philippines.

OBJECTIVES

The purpose of this project is linking the actual healthcare centers to create an Integrated Telemedicine Network, by implementing a new technical infrastructure, based on advanced information and communication technologies, that will

1. Enable existing hospitals and medical centers to share medical information of their patients,
2. Improve the access to healthcare in rural and isolated regions,
3. Extend healthcare to the homes for patients having chronic diseases, and
4. Create a gateway to receive international medical aid when regional capacity is overpassed by the needs derived from catastrophic events.
